CTTDC | The Lean StartUp

Content Strategy | CTTDC

As November begins with a brand new batch of articles, creative essays and DIY web projects I want to take a short brake and reflect back for a few minutes. On the process of creating, developing and crafting quality content for the magazine project that is CTTDC. And to present an early draft behind realizing our lean startup incubator project. The portfolio question is in fact a series of projects tied in under one single umbrella which becomes self evident each week with essay and article updates from #Art Journal Magazine.

Skills ranging between  graphic design, DIY front end web design, creative essay writing and cultural tidbits are amongst the things I controlled and do well as a freelance front end web developer. In an effort to hopefully inform, inspire and motivate those of you reading The Art Journal Magazine towards a better understanding behind our tactics of creation. I am reminded of the words of a college professor (Circa 2002) in painting and philosophy during our current epoch as a form of daily inspiration:

“It will take you about a decade to realize what the work will be,

then another ten to fifteen to actually craft a proper workflow

and realization of these kinds of ideas and visual web projects david.”

—Parsons Fine Arts: 1998-2002

The web, along with skills ranging between fine art and technology have been instrumental towards reaching my goals in half the equation as it would have been back in the Fall of 2002. As I began my post graduate studies in print design. And as the famous Scott Jensen block-quote goes:

“You have to know what you want
before you can
built it”

The Upcoming Article Line Up

November/December

DIY WordPress | Part Two:

A comprehensive follow up series looking at the tools and best practices behind using WordPress for site owners and content creators.

The Magazine Projects:

Designing each magazine project, revenue models and calls to action for investment capital presentations. After spending several years of networking, freelancing and internship work for several startups and organizations. I begin the task of product development for CTTDC. And with a small but dedicated team of early creative contributors/editors for each magazine project online. I hope to get it all rolling by second quarter, 2014.

Art & Culture:

Following “Picasso Baby” monumental thesis on the role between art and class in contemporary culture. A critical look behind the works of graffiti artist Bansky and the role of the public sphere; looms in. Specially the concept of “what is art” within the eyes of the general public and the role of money vs taste within contemporary culture are exploited as argumentative thesis points.

Line On Paper:

Monthly to quarterly fine art magazine project with participating contributors in visual design, street art and graphic illustration. Developing a conversation between fine art and contemporary culture. I am hoping to publish in late Dec to early first quarter of Jan 2014. With 5 contributors for the first publication title: “The Beta Issue”

Next Steps:

@Art Journal MagSubscribe to #Art Journal Magazine; your daily digest for all things design, technology and art culture tidbits. Including resources for creative professionals wishing to create your own web projects for yourself or a non profit gallery organization. We hope to keep you inform as I work on building CTTDC. A network of creative online magazines with participating contributors; ranging in content, scale and revenue options for those participating. Line on Paper is such publication, and a comprehensive launch party will roll towards your inbox in months ahead as we approach 2014.

Cheers,
