Design takes a long time to master when creating meaningful engagement with your audience. As I embark on a rigorous journey up everest, the only roadblock at my current disposal is time and money. If one door closes I quickly execute another brainstorming session and results usually come in like  prayers coming from enchanted palaces beyond the pond.

But what about the idea of inspiration in relation to being able to speak about your work.

“Being able to talk about your work is important as well”

As I showed my  portfolio to a season and well crafted design colleague I realized the fundamental principle of prepping ahead and braking free from the “paralysis of hierarchy”

(more on this in a future story)

Sometimes the easiest  design translation can be the most difficult  journey to embark upon.

When I look at the collection of flower bouquets I have collected over the past four years I am reminded of a few ideas:

A long and dedicated process towards developing and cultivating design skills which I managed to turn off over the years.  A kind of ambiguous  lost in translation by way of Bill Murray. And it does take time to turn on the creative muscle after a long hiatus.

Its a kind of balancing act between class, style and generating a consistent body of work while learning new skills is always in the path of a creative.

These images are culled from a collection of various sources and locations using different lighting conditions and points of view. They are all closeups with limited background presentation as I wanted the viewer to immersed themselves in detail. Photography plays a major role in my  process as a designer as it informs me on how form and color can work together in unison.  Ideas I always come back to when writing code and prototyping as well.

The Bouquets

Taken with iphone using the HRD app which makes them appear at higher resolution and color manipulated using Photoshop CS6.

I am inspired by nature and the simplicity of form, value, color and composition. The basics and fundamental principles of design which lie at the core of these images.
