Culture & Pragmatism

Culture-&-Pragmatism

The Antisocial Insurgency Is At Full Swing On Some Parts Of The Known Universe. Not On Planet Kripton At Least.

There seems to be a definitive rule these days:

“Observe, Critique, Analyze And Report. “

With such strict scrutiny on what we say in public as personal anecdotes are taken out of context. The idea of being a pragmatic listener and speaker have entered my consciousness. As a form of coping with things I cannot change in everyday social situations. A logical step as a form of coping mechanism against these kinds of subversive tactics is to formulate a basic situational framework. Culled from a series of steps aimed at easing and compromising for the sake of public support.

What you say in public can and will be use against you in the court of public opinion.

Cultural background mixed in with status and decor play a vital role in how we discern one another. As I recently  discovered first hand during my sister’s wedding. Where recanting stories with family members and meeting new people became a sort of balancing act. When multiple personalities converge under a unified setting, things do not always play as one might hope. Especially when “friends of support” bail on you at the last moment.

He feels the need to want to talk to everyone.

In these kinds of situations the practical and pragmatic solution is to rightfully speak and greet everyone. As a way of getting into a role of comfort and assessment of what to say next. Overall; I felt a great sense of joy and emotional amazement during the ceremony. More so than I ever expected. And having or wanting to speak with everyone at the wedding didn’t feel awkward at all as I might have imagined.
