ArticleCoverArt-2

In December I want to begin with a series of articles aimed at exploring the basic principles behind the art journal magazine weekly focus. Expanding ideas, concepts and DIY web projects for the creative folk in all of us. With a ranging motivational focus based on inspiring, informing and interacting with our community of creative smart masses. Those of you who have already followed, subscribed and shared the grassroots online project; we say: Cheers

“Matter only matters when matter is broken”

These articles represent a hybrid collection of ideas, brainstorming thoughts and exercises in visual thinking. Published online using a magazine style format no different than Artforum print magazine. The public is always invited to share, read, comment and subscribe to the magazine by following us.

As I leave the “Crazy” talk rhetoric for those of you involved in the critique business. I think is important to highlight those who where beyond the curve in their writing when describing the”normalcy” of the shitstorm before them. Dr.Hunter S Thomson; I always summon your artistic spirit in times of creative funk in an effort to stay focus on the body of work yet to come. You might be incline to call us “trolls” of the internet or some sort of abstraction but in fact:

I think therefore I blog.

That is the premiss behind the art journal magazine project.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

    1. Hello Olivia,

Thank you for the candid feedback.

My goal with Art Journal is to create a weekly forum where ideas are freely discussed. I have a BFA in Fine Arts, working in hospitality and later on in life became a freelance front end web developer. The topics discussed here are a forum for creative professionals and the general public at large. Op Ed Monthly is a recollection of all the essays I have composed since May of last year and is more of a pithy retrospective. Again, as the title of the site reads: Explorations in Art | Design | Tech & Culture suggest. However, it has come to my attention several of our readers are coming from an entirely different side of the spectrum ie: Business people, stay home moms, property mgmt and hospitality oriented folks in my field which may lack context for understanding the visual style of how each essay is composed. Thus giving me the feedback I need for writing for a wider audience instead of a specific niche as I would have imagined when I first began thinking about this project. At the end of each article, you will now find a section entitle: Next Steps which will lead you towards either links and resources for further investigation and learning should you choose to. I will also add links between each essay sentence which will also provide context.

Cheers for your feedback and sorry for the late reply. As your comments was added to the Spam filter for some strange reason.
